SMS messages can be sent from Caflou to the phone numbers listed

  1. at the companies
  2. for contacts

SMS messages can be sent to a specific number of a contact or company:

or in bulk to the numbers of the selected companies and contacts:

💡 Tip 1: enter the phone numbers of companies and contacts with the country code (e.g. +420, +421), it is easier for the system to deliver the message securely.

You can then just add the message text and send the message:

💡Tip 2: you can also send longer messages, in the form below the message text you can see how many SMS messages your message will be divided into.

History of sent SMS for the company (log)

For each company there is a log where you can see what messages have been sent to the company or contacts under that company and whether they have been delivered (green symbol = delivered, orange symbol = still being delivered, red symbol = failed to deliver):

Charging for SMS messages

For every one SMS sent, your account will be charged the appropriate amount depending on the recipient's country. For example, SMS to the Czech Republic costs about CZK 1.43, SMS to SK costs CZK 1.38. You can check the charged credit in Account Settings, in the Credit/Credit history section.

Sender of SMS messages

The sender of the SMS message in the recipient's mailbox will be "Caflou" for recipients from the Czech Republic (+420) and Slovakia (+421). For recipients outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia (other area codes than +420 and +421), the sender of the SMS message in the recipient's mailbox will be "GoSMS-info".

The SMS gateway used by Caflou for sending SMS messages is GoSMS.

🤖 Automation of sending SMS messages

You can also send SMS automatically when a defined condition is met via automated processes/workflow.

❗ RULES FOR SENDING SMS MESSAGES ❗

If the SMS you send from Caflou are of a commercial or marketing character, you must comply with the rules set out by law (No. 480/2004 Sb.). It is important to be aware of the following if you are sending bulk marketing SMS:

Identification of the commercial message

You can only send your communication to your customers in this way, offering similar products or services to those they have purchased from you, or you must obtain demonstrable consent from them that meets the conditions of the GDPR.

Any such marketing communication must be clearly and conspicuously labelled to make it clear that it is this type of communication. In the case of an SMS text message, according to the Data Protection Authority, it must contain the indication "OS:" at the beginning of the message.

Indication of the name of the subject

A commercial communication must, inter alia, include in the text of the message the name of the entity on whose behalf the communication is made. In the context of SMS text messages, the name of the business must therefore be indicated.

Indication of the name of the entity

A commercial communication must, inter alia, include in the text of the message the name of the entity on whose behalf the communication is made. In the context of SMS text messages, it is therefore necessary to include the business name.

It is important to label the SMS in such a way that the recipient is able to directly define from whom the SMS was received. Simply providing a link to a website through which this could also be defined is not sufficient.

Refusal to send further messages

You must also allow your customer to opt-out of the mailing as part of the commercial communication. In the field of the Data Protection Authority, only one option is correct, namely that the SMS message must always contain a telephone number that can be called or texted free of charge to opt out of the mailing. It is no longer sufficient to provide a web link.

If the SMS sent by you via Caflou violate the rules set by law, we will withdraw your ability to use this function and, in the event of a serious violation by the Caflou Service Customer, you may terminate your use of the Caflou Service with immediate effect (see General Terms and Conditions).
